He founded both the Association for the Promotion of the Unity of Christendom and the Order of Corporate Reunion which sought closer links between the Church of England and Rome. His approach to religion was broadly ecumenical and The Other World indicates a broad minded approach to the supernatural and paranormal. It is essentially a compilation of stories and reports of phenomena from The Other World. The book includes chapters on Witchcraft and Necromancy, Second Sight, Spectral Appearances and Haunted Houses. But, as Lee explains, belief in the supernatural is part of an orthodox faith in God and the Divine. "The Supernatural must work in a supernatural manner, if the great Creator takes any active part in the permanent government of the order which He has been pleased to call into being".

Ref. 5296

LEE, The Rev.
