Third edition. 8vo. 238x150mm. Unpaginated [344 leaves] Final leaf is Tt4. The "Occasional Prayers" are present , Gaskell noting that they are sometimes lacking. Handsomely bound in contemporary red morocco, gilt border of a dog-tooth roll, a roll of intersecting wavy lines and drawer handles and floral motifs. In the centre is a lozenge composed of fleurons, leaves, thistles and stars. Five raised bands, compartments decorated in gilt with a fleuron surrounded with flowers, tendrils and dots. Edges of boards decorated in gilt, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Rebacked with original spine laid down, corners and joints strengthened. Slight shelfwear to edges and a repaired closed tear to C5 but otherwise a lovely copy in very good condition. This third edition contains the Royal Prayers as cancels in order to include mention of Queen Charlotte whom George III had married on 8th September 1761.
