Waite was interested in Freemasonry as a conduit for the spiritual life. The “Secret Tradition”, according to Waite “tells us that the Soul ‘cometh from afar’ and that the Soul returns whence it came...by a method of the inward life”. This is a staggeringly detailed and learned book weaving into Freemasonry spiritual traditions such as mainstream Christianity as well as alchemy, Kabalism, Rosicrucianism, Chivalry, Martinism and Hermeticism.

[ref: 5391]

https://voewoodrarebooks.com/products/the-secret-tradition-in-freemasonry-and-an-analysis-of-the-inter-relation-between-the-craft-and-the-high-grades-in-respect-of-their-term-of-research-expressed-by-the-way-of-symbolism
