First edition. 235x160mm. pp.[8] 353 [3bl]. Quarter bound in publisher’s original striped yellow and blue cloth on a pale grey ground. Title, author and publisher’s mark lettered in gold on spine. Original dust jacket in protective mylar covering. Very slight fading to head of spine. Dust jacket has a repaired tear on front towards foot and one small chip (0.5cm) on head of back cover. In excellent condition internally; altogether in excellent condition.

High Priest is Timothy Leary’s framing of 16 ‘trips’ as religious revelations, as well as accounts of his first time using magic mushrooms and other experimental forays into psychedelics. It is a key work in drug culture and, more broadly, the counterculture of the 1960’s. A beautiful copy of the high priest of LSD’s autobiographical work.
