London Reynolds & Sons. 1835.Box: 560x111x45mm. Playing cards: 93x64mm. Black box with marbled edges and embossed leather ties containing a set of embossed playing cards. 52 cards, no Jokers. Single-ended, square corners, with lightly impressed pattern on obverse. Foxing to cards, box in excellent condition (thought to be modern, not contemporary to the cards). The One of Clubs depicts Reynolds & Sons crest with the words 'Duty One Shilling' above the coronet. A very rare deck of playing cards created for blind people, thought to be the earliest example of such a deck.

Flanking this are representations of the Twelve Feasts - significant events in Christ's life, from The Birth Of The Virgin to The Presentation in The Temple.
