CUNLIFFE, Mitzin.p.. c1955.A plaster cast (108x90mm) and a model in bronze (170x140mm), both of which are prototypes for the BAFTA "theatrical mask" trophy. The plaster model is mounted on a short, thin metal rod and the bronze on a metal rod inserted into a wooden block. Both models have the symbol representing an atom with four electron orbitals around one eye and a rectangle symbolising a television screen around the other. These were central to the design from the beginning and represented the technology which underpinned film and television. The bronze has aged attractively with patches of verdigris.

Spotting and marking to covers and some bumping to extremities. Bookseller label of Brentano's Paris on rear pastedown. Internally very good and overall this is a nice copy of a scarce title describing Macdonald's experiences serving in the French Army during the First World War. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To Charles-Henry Hirsch with the author's sincere admiration".

Mario di Calascio 1616" on the lower cover. One of the ties is broken and the other is missing. Some marks and stains to the covers. Internally there is water damage with the pages waterstained and cockled but the text is beautifully clear and overall this is a nice copy of a rare book, Worldcat recording fifteen copies and only two appearing in the auction records.

Half calf, marbled paper covered boards. Black morocco label to spine lettered in gilt. Rubbing to corners and edges. Some foxing affecting mainly the margins but also one or two of the plates but otherwise internally very good. Farington trained with the great landscape painter Richard Wilson and, like his mentor, Farington imbues his work with depth and detail, capturing the character of a landscape.

The images on the cards were each designed by individual art directors including Fabien Baron, Mario Testino (who photographed John Galliano as the King of Diamond while Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin photographed Iman as the Queen. The 3,000 issues of Visionaire 21 were packaged in individual jewellery boxes, each with its own lock and key, and offered a real diamond for one lucky subscriber. Sadly no diamond with this one.

Extensively illustrated throughout in black and white and colour design demonstrating the principles set out by Sutnar in his text. Accompanying the book is a collection of four A4 size original advertising and marketing leaflets showing Sutnar's work.

Housed in a folding card jacket and a blue quarter morocco slipcase, lettered in gilt to the spine. Title page has ownership inscription: "Chas. L. Reason". Reason was an African American mathematician.

Ten pages of text (in German) and nineteen photographs. Undated, this appears to be an abridged, smaller version of the book that accompanied the 1925 film made by Prager in praise of the beautiful and athletic body.

Grace Pailthorpe is probably best remembered as a surrealist painter but her day job was as a doctor and criminal psychologist working first at Birmingham prison then at Holloway Women's Prison.

In very good condition throughout. Half title has an inscription "I'd rather read Winnie the Pooh. Bradbury Robinson" which has then been crossed out in the manner of a Masson automatic drawing. Both the inscription and the scrawl are by William Burroughs who has signed the dedication leaf.

Endpapers chipped at the front inner gutter but otherwise a very nice copy of an important collection of women's writing by Elizabeth Sharp.
