Internally very good. Front free endpaper has ownership inscription I.S.White. Marathi is the language spoken in the state of Maharashtra of which Bombay/Mumbai is the capital.

n.p  c1820s.A set of six hand-coloured lithographs on card showing the hand signals made to communicate from a distance when game shooting. Mounted on linen with two backed with marbled card so that these form the covers when folded. The folded set is housed in a marbled paper covered card slip-case. Each card measures 66x132mm and unfolded the whole is 200x265mm. The prints are in superb condition, with the colours particularly fresh and bright.

Engraved folding frontispiece and twenty five engraved plates and numerous engravings in the text and a folding plan of the cathedral. Contemporary full calf, rebacked with corners repaired. Front pastedown has armorial bookplate of Carolus Gandolphus Hornyold and, on the verso of the front free endpaper, the plate of John Vincent Hornyold and a handwritten note on the title page "Charles Gandolfi Hornyold bought at Worcester 1869".

[Winterton, Lincolnshire] n.p.. undated [pre 1804].Original pen and coloured ink drawing (146x108mm) of a mosaic floor on thick paper, mounted on card (198x140mm) and framed. Beneath the drawing is inscribed "William Fowler Fecitt (sic)" and the description "A Tessellated Floor of an Ancient Bath in Nants (sic) in the South of France supposed to be Built by Antonious (sic) Pius". The hand-coloured engraving of this mosaic appears in volume one of Fowler's Engravings of the Mosaic Pavements &c published in 1804. This beautiful drawing is in excellent condition with the colours particularly fresh.

Contemporary sprinkled calf, triple fillet border in gilt to upper and lower cover. Five raised bands, compartments decorated in gilt with crown, thistle and flower pattern. Second compartment with tan lettering piece, lettered in gilt. Some wear to boards, rubbing and rubbing to spine and joints. All edges red. Internally in fine condition. Diagrams throughout. Marbled endpapers.

Contemporary calf with double fillet borders in gilt to upper and lower covers, five raised bands to spine, compartments simply decorated with gilt borders. The binding is worn in places with scuffing, particularly to the foot of the upper cover at the joint and on the lower cover near the joint where there is cracking. Corners bumped and rubbed. But overall this is a handsome, simple and tight binding. The contents are in excellent condition, bright and fresh with only a little foxing.

Top edge gilt. White illustrated dust jacket. Title printed in black on spine and upper cover. Some wear to extremities with a small tear to the head of the lower cover. This is a reproduction of David Cox's 1813 Treatise.

Modern speckled calf, borders to upper and lower covers decorated in blind, spine lettered in gilt. Some foxing and browning but overall a very good copy of a scarce and ground-breaking book on madness and mental health. William Battie (1703-76) was a Fellow of the Royal Society and President of the Royal College of Physicians. His principal medical interest was in what he called "the mad business".

Small round shelf label to foot of spine of volume one. All edges gilt. Seventy-one plates. Additional engraved illustrated title page to volume two. Slight scuffing to boards in two places and minor rubbing to extremities. Internally some browning and foxing but overall a very good copy in a handsome binding.

Contemporary vellum, handwritten on the spine is "Pyle". Half title to the whole volume: "Mr Pyle's Answer to Mr. Law". From the Library of the Earls of Macclesfield, the front pastedown has the bookplate from the South Library. An attractive volume bringing together a series of letters by Thomas Pyle in support of Benjamin Hoadly's (Bishop of Bangor) Whiggish Low Church supinity. The final letter is a reply to Pyle.

Internally there is some foxing and spotting, heavy in places but overall a nice copy of a groundbreaking travel book. Arthur de Capell Brooke, from a land-owning family and the son of a baronet resigned his army commission after the Battle of Waterloo and embarked on a life of adventure and travel.

Original colour photographic dust-jacket. A particularly nice, near fine copy of this collection of starkly archetypal images of everyday America. Sternfeld travelled across America on and off for eight years with a large format camera.

Original beige cloth lettered in gilt and decorated in silver and brown. Some soiling and rubbing and internally there is some foxing but overall a nice copy. Front free endpaper is signed Clementina Black so this is either the author's own copy or was signed by her for someone else. Rare in commerce and comparatively uncommon institutionally, OCLC recording sixteen copies. An Agitator is Black's most overtly political work of fiction.

[Dresden] . Various.An extensive collection of work by the Dresden artist M.E.Philipp who signed himself MEPH. 174 small prints mostly signed with varying small limitations. There is one engraved self portrait and one original sketch. The main collection of small prints falls into two broad categories. First is a set of 96 mounted bookplates made for various clients. 13 of these are in duplicate (or in a slightly different state) so there are 83 separate images. There are 4 unmounted duplicates.

An archive of material relating to the Stuckists, including originals of the various manifestos, a signed copy of Remodernism, advertisements and invitations to various Stuckist exhibitions and events, including leaflets and programmes for events organised by the Maidstone Poets, some of whom founded the Stuckists. A fascinating collection which traces the history and ideas of this radical, provocative and counter-cultural "anti-movement". The Stuckists were founded by Charles Thomson and Billy Childish on 4th August 1999 with the publication of the Stuckist Manifesto in which they declared themselves to be “Against conceptualism, hedonism and the cult of the ego-artist”.

Spine decorated in gilt. Label in the second compartment is missing. Rubbing to joints, edges and head and foot of spine. Corners worn. The last thirty leaves have water staining to the bottom edge affecting only the margin and not the text.

London: Printed for J.M.Richardson. 1808.Second edition. 8vo in 4s. pp. iv, 179 [1bl]. Uncut in the original blue wrappers, large section of the spine is missing but original label is present. Heavily foxed. Inscribed in black ink on the front wrapper: "The Honble. Rufus King with Mr Alexr Baring's Compliments". This work, in which Alexander Baring makes the case for a liberalising of British trade policy towards the United States, was popular and influential, running to three editions in 1808 alone.
