Promotional prospectus for the Fashion Academy at 16 East 52nd Street, New York. 198x130mm. pp. 44. Illustrated throughout with colour fashion plates and one pochoir pastedown image. Decorated covers with an embossed gilded label pasted on upper cover. Illustrated endpapers with gold fashion silhouettes. The fashion plates are mostly of historic designs. Some rubbing and wear and internally there is some marking and slight staining but overall a nice copy.
The Fashion Academy was operated under the direction of Emil Avil Hartman and ran a series of courses on fashion and costume design. This fascinating little book, published as an annual prospectus and so is quite uncommon provides outlines of the courses and gives information about how to live in New York.
