Book and slipcase are in excellent, fine condition.

Extensively illustrated throughout in black and white and colour design demonstrating the principles set out by Sutnar in his text. Accompanying the book is a collection of four A4 size original advertising and marketing leaflets showing Sutnar's work.

They were then reissued in London under the present title between 1825 and 1829. Contemporary half calf, marbled paper boards. Spine has four raised bands decorated in gilt, compartments decorated in blind. Contrasting lettering pieces, lettered in gilt. All edges marbled. A little rubbing at the extremities.

Contemporary calf with double fillet borders in gilt to upper and lower covers, five raised bands to spine, compartments simply decorated with gilt borders. The binding is worn in places with scuffing, particularly to the foot of the upper cover at the joint and on the lower cover near the joint where there is cracking. Corners bumped and rubbed. But overall this is a handsome, simple and tight binding. The contents are in excellent condition, bright and fresh with only a little foxing.

Number 259 of an unknown number of first printing copies of this striking and strikingly designed collection of beach photographs. The cover is card although with a faux-satin finish, decorated with a polka dot lenticular design, lettered in black. Crease to upper cover but otherwise very good. Printed on a variety of paper types from high quality gloss to soft kitchen-paper. The text, in French, is an essay by the photographer Sophie Baiss-Fabiani and, separately, an interview with her.

It is a catalogue of an exhibition organised by the Pacific Press Service whose founder was Robert Kirschenbaum. Kirschenbaum organised this retrospective of Eugene Smith's work in 1982, four years after Smith's death.

Morris (1916-2017) was probably the most celebrated photo-editor of the 20th century.

The result is a striking set of images. The contents are very good although there are small tears and some discolouration to the dust-jacket. From the library of John G. Morris. This book was a major departure for Duncan.

Bonnet’s philosophical defence of Christianity was originally articulated in his “La palingénésie philosophique, ou idées sur l’état passé et sur l’état futur des êtres vivans” (1769) and “Recherches philosophique sur les preuves du christianisme” (1770).

AnonParis: Hautecoeur Martinet. 1830-1835.Lithograph with hand colouring (255x190mm) by an unknown artist. Printed by Delaunois. The image, which might be from the satirical journal "La Caricature" although this is not clear, shows a young woman with two babies standing outside a priests' house. A priest has come to answer the door and she is asking him for charity. He is saying that since the revolution priest are like her (i.e. short of money). The doors open to reveal five priests drinking and cavorting.
